Well, night was upon the city. It was time for Siren to go lurking, as she usually did when the stars were out to play. It was a time when most street dogs chose to come out. After all, most were driven from the streets in daylight by the traffic and dog catchers that seemed to always be oh so conveniently parked just around the corner. Yes, the streets could prove to be quite dangerous for a street dog in the day. There were other reasons, though, that Siren only chose to show herself in the night hours, however, those reasons were unknown to everyone but herself. One of the reasons that were not so secret was that Siren loved the night sky, and was particularly fascinated with the moon and its rare beauty. In fact, there had been times that as a mere pup she had wished that the sun did not exist and only the moon shown bright in the sky. However, of course as she grew she learned that it was the sun that made the moon glow so brightly, and she quit wishing.

Siren had been laying in between a hole in the wall of the warehouse for the longest time. It had been about three hours into the night until she had finally decided to get up and venture to the alleys after changing her mind about the decision she had made earlier that she would stay in that night. Her dark chocalate hued eyes darted this way and that in a quick, shifty glance as she crept from the Pericolo Gang hideout before deeming her surroundings clear. Her paws hit the ground, then, in a swift run. Ah, it felt so good just sprinting the yard between the old abandoned warehouse and the first street. It was hardly a long run, but it still felt refreshing. When her mottled nails began to click on the pavement of the sidewalk that framed the street, she slowed to a careful, slinky and nearly soundless walk. She had learned to keep quiet on this side of town. Human gangs often beat up and even shot dogs for being too noisy or startling them. When she entered the alley, she'd be safe to make as much noise as she wanted to. After all, humans usually didn't dare to go into such an alley at night.

Siren soon reached the entrance to the back alley. She stepped into it, nails clicking against the stained and dirt smudged pavement. She took a moment to survey the new graffiti on the walls that the humans had put there. She did not understand why they did it, nor did she understand what the strange patterns and lines meant, but she wasn't the type to make any sort of effort to understand the strange ways of the humans. So, she forgot about it. Looking ahead of her, she stepped with an alert but cool form, just barely showing her dominance through her posture. Sure, she liked to flaunt her title at times, but not all the time. She found it interesting to just let all of that go from time to time, and see how other dogs treated her when they didn't exactly know who she was, though there were few who didn't.

As Siren made her way through the alley, a pleasant scent met her nostrils. The smell of human food filled the alleyway. The trash cans provided her with all the food she needed to stay somewhat healthy and full, and she was due for a meal. Trotting around the corner, Siren found that one of the trash cans had been newly filled. She crept up to the shiny, tall can and took a moment to figure out how she'd knock it down. Finally, she decided she'd try to knock it down from the back. Creeping around it, Siren reared up skillfully on the back of the can and in a quick move, knocked it over. Luckily for her, the crashing sound it made was drowned out by the siren of a passing police car.

The scent became stronger as the lid was knocked off, and Siren eagerly went around the can and began picking at the leftover human food. It amazed her what they would throw away. Her nose pushed away random garbage like wrappers and old soda cans until she finally came upon a half-eaten chicken breast. Holding it down in place with one paw, she began picking at the piece of meat.

C E R A M I C
oh so breakable

Night had come slowly, the shadows growing ever more prominent as the sun lowered back to its celestial bed. Soft gray clouds hung depressingly in the sky, dulled after the disappearance of the sun. They shimmered in light grayscale hues, the occasional glimmer of silvery moonlight piercing them. It was the time of the street dogs. The humans were vacant from the cement roads, the occasional gang huddled in a small talk. A highly terrifying sight, seeing the butt of a gun strapped along one's belt. Ceramic himself was unfazed, and slowly walked past them with nothing more than a wary glance. Seeing they were much to busy in their own troubles, he sauntered by confidently. Nails clicked against the smooth pavement, as he meandered skillfully through the deserted city. Few cars graveled along the road, their highlights flashing at him before moving on. None stopped, and he was glad for it. He despised humans, as well as their over-weight mongrels. Ceramic kept his distance at most times, staying in the comfortable shadows in an abandoned basement. Padding his way around a corner, he pondered where he would go tonight. He decided readily on the alley when his stomach gave a twisted grumble. The alley was a nice place, dark and roomy. What he liked most that very few ventured there. Thankfully house scum never ventured there. If they set foot there, they would be killed.

Soft tawny body seemed to melt into the night air, as he slinked skillfully along the arches and corners of buildings. Tail was curled contently at his smooth pace, amber eyes glancing about once and again for danger. You could never be guaranteed full protection in these parts. There were murderers, rapists (though he had nothing to fear there), and thugs. It was dangerous, and only the true baddies of the street dog community dared to come here. He considered himself that highly, and wasn't afraid to prove his worth over other canines. His pure-bred body deemed delicate and lithe, but his kind was bred to protect stock from danger. He was bred to fight and protect, and it was natural to him.

The alley appeared before him, and he smirked placidly. Nails clicked as he meandered down the darkened alley, ignoring the new arts of the humans. Why they did it, he hadn't a clue. They could go on doing it to, he didn't care. He hesitated as a roaring police car rushed by him, ruffling his tawny fur. He heard them all the time, and wasn't surprised by the noise. Shrugging his shoulder, he continued down the long, shaded alley. The sweet scent of human's leftovers entered his flared nose, and he smirked. They always threw so much out, but he wasn't one to complain. Though a far different scent swirled into the oxygen, a dog? He stopped, his body suddenly tensed. He knew that many dogs were possessive over their food, but he was starving, so he would fight for a meal. Hackles bristled menacingly, and he stepped forward, his steps tensed. His tail was stiff, and curled into a wheel, and he approached the unknown dog and food.

Her body cleared as he moved slowly closer. She was large, yet slender. Her coat was a mixture of blue merle, hinted with white. He paused, hesitant. He was larger than her, and weighted obviously more. He could tell in a single glance that speed was her forte. He however was husky, but slender. An odd mixture of proportions he was. "Oi there," He spoke in a husky greeting. Amber eyes watched her coolly, an expression of boredom plastered on his face. "Seems I'm not the only one out for a bite, eh?" he inquired, his words slightly slurred. He remained a few dog's lengths away from the female, happen she to be violent. He really didn't feel like getting into a round-a-bout with a arrogant female tonight. He was in one of those slightly ignorant moods, and didn't want to take any crap. Ceramic was a dog of many aspirations and many personalities. Tonight, he was just down-right in a bad mood. Of course he blamed it on the pathetic yowling of some house-pet as he threatened it through a window.

Though Siren might have looked vulnerable at the time, she was actually very alert. Her folded over ears were perked up slightly, twitching at the even slightest sound as she seemed to focus mainly on her meal. Her ivory teeth glistened in the light given off by another slowly passing police car on night patrol, the shadows shifting for a moment as if drove by. She tore away at the meat, and soon she had nearly picked it clean. She swallowed the last bit of meat off the bonde before lowering herself slightly to pick it up. With that, she turned, planning on heading back to the warehouse or perhaps to another place like the garden or beach. It was then that she picked up another scent, however. It was one of another dog that had entered the alley. She awaited the other to turn the corner, and as he did, her dark eyes scanned him in an almost scrutinizing way.

He was taller than her by a few inches, and appeared to be less scruffy than most street dogs. A rising suspicion overcame her and she decided to break a bit of the distance he had set between them. He didn't have the rediculous scent of shampoo about him like a house-pet, but boy, did this guy look like one. She quirked a tan brow as the other dog spoke, offering a greeting to her. She nodded in return, and deemed him one of her own kind. For now. Still, she eyed him with that same wary and slightly suspicious look. Finally, she decided to return her greeting. She dropped the bare bone from her mouth, placing a paw over it.

"Hey." she said quite simply, her tone seeming low and uninterested. At his question, had she been human, she would have simply shrugged. However, since she lacked the ability to do so, she simply answered again with a two word response. "Guess not." she replied. Soon realizing that he was looking for a meal, she stepped away from the cans. She, herself, wasn't exactly in the mood to fight to deprive this dog of his dinner for no reason. She wasn't feeling cruel tonight. However, she did not leave. She had questions about this dog that she wanted answers too. She had a reputation to keep up, and she would not leave any apparent house-pet wandering around the street dog territory simply because she wasn't in the mood to fight. She needed some sort of sign that this dog wasn't one of them.

C E R A M I C
and you think i'm some runaway valuable

He watched as she stepped closer, his face set in a indifferent stare. He grumbled, annoyed as se eyes him. He felt like a bug under a microscope, and it was enough to ruffle his fur. Though he managed to keep shut as she spoke. A fair, exceedingly normal street mutt greeting, and he nodded. As she stepped away from the bins, he walked forward confidently. Reaching into their dark depths, he withdrew a half-mauled hotdog. With a meek effort, he slid the met from the wheat and ate it slowly, glancing at the female as she continued watching him. It was enough to pluck his few nerves, and he turned to face her- a small growl rumbling in his deep chest. "What's with your idiotic staring? See something you like?" He snapped, hackles stiffening along hi spine. His lips formed in a solid pout, his bad mood taking him over. Giving a sneer, he tossed his head away from her. "Yeah. Keep them fixed on me. I might just have to rip them from your pretty little head," He snarled, lips quivering as he threatened to reveal his fangs. Giving a loud huff, he straightened out.

He had an idea for her staring. He could here the words right now in her head. House pet. Well he for sure wasn’t one of them, no matter how much he looked. If this female even mentioned it aloud, he snarled at the thought. He was born from two royals, and lived with them for two years. He had never been like them. Never. He had always been a street dog, no matter his bloodlines. Amber eyes looked to the female before him expression held in a childish anger. Though Ceramic often got angry, it was often just him being ignorant and getting annoyed at the smallest things. He remained with a look of indifferent annoyance, watching the female with irritated amber eyes. He remembered to shift his gaze now and then, to not have his owns words shot back at him. He absolutely hated that.

Ceramic was often a more serious being, but today hade ruffled his fur in the wrong direction, so he was in a irritant, agitated mood. This female, he was too ignorant to ask her name, had just done something innocent. Though, because of this very eventful day, he was in a ignorant mood.

Her staring continued, though she didn't make any move for him. Yet. So far, his own staring was beginning irritate her. Had she actually been convinced at that moment that he was indeed what she thought he was, she would have jumped for the mere cold look he was giving her. Even with his size, had he been a house-pet, she could have easily taken him, being one of the better fighters in the city. However, she had yet to decide just what this testy male was, and she would know. Her ears were perked still with clear alertness as he spoke. She wasn't surprised at his questions, really. However, she wasn't exactly used to that kind of treatment, being an alphaess of a gang and all. Most who knew her wouldn't even dare for fear of being jumped by the gang behind her. Now, brute was either igorant of her rank in the street dog community or he was extremely foolish and dumb. Deciding to go with the former for now, she stepped forward again, breaking even more of the distance between them. She'd reveal her title with time, and maybe even make him regret his words. For now, though, she'd just toy with him a bit, get what she wanted out of him, and answer these few questions he had asked her.

"Hardly." she replied to his second question, her tone holding a confusing mixture of both irritation and amusement. With a small smirk and quirked tan brow, she sat a few feet from him. Hearing his next statement only made her all the more amused. "Well, honey, I'd like ta see ya try." came her response. Of course, being one built for speed, if he looked ready lunge for her she could quite easily dodge and run off. She tilted her head to the side as his lip quivered, soon happily deciding that this dog was doubtlessly one of her own kind. No intelligent house dog would dare threaten to bare their teeth at any street dog in the alley. If anything, he would have kept a low profile. The confident way he walked and talked assured her that he wasn't some daring house pet, but the real deal.

"So, who 're you?" she asked, deciding she'd move on to introductions if this dog would be willing enough. Her dark eyes still stared at him, though her gaze didn't seem as scrutinizing as before. It was more accepting, now.

C E R A M I C
put me in a cabinet and lock away the key

Amber eyes watched with a heated indifference as she moved closer. Her eyes continued to watch him, but were more accepting, and eventually, it calmed him slightly. His pursed lips quite quivering in a threat, and his hackles flattened against his back. Huffing at her words, he looked away as if she was of little importance in his presence. Had he known the female's status, he may have been more polite to her, but Ceramic was hardly polite. Though he knew by the air around the female she wasn't just a stray, she was something more. He however was currently a stray. Something he didn't like at all. Oh, Ceramic would soon change that. Soon he would be feared and respected. Even if his royal blood held him back, he would still show them who he truly was, despite the pampered blood that threatened to poison his rogue veins. He looked up barely as the female spoke, he nodded. "Ceramic," He spoke simply in rushed baritone tones. Possibly one of the worst parts of starting a conversation was the greetings. Oh how he hated saying his name over and over. Why couldn't they just remember it?

He glanced back to the female. Sighing, he gave in to the slight want of conversation. Since the mottle female was the only breathing thing in sight, she was the only one to hear him out. "What 'bout yourself?" He inquired with a quirked obsidian brow. Maybe this female's name would ring a bell in his expansive mind- though he doubted it. He wasn't much one to keep up to date on things; especially the names and ranks of random dogs. Torturing fluffy royals was much more inspiring. It was funny to see their little faces turn red in anger, and their dainty fur spike in mild aggression. When all he had to do was growl playfully and they would go yowling off like he had removed one of their legs.

Ceramic knew this female had many questions for him. He was inclined to answer them as long as his bloodlines weren’t brought up. If she spoke of that, he would go off like a time bomb. Simply annoying question he could handle easily, but those he could not. Giving an inner prayer that she would not bring up the subject, he turned back to her. His amber eyes met her dark ones.

A small smile befell her features when she heard him blow out a huff of air, slowly calming himself. Good. So he wasn't going to try anything. Siren simply watched with dark eyes holding seemingly everlasting interest and amusement that hadn't died down in the least since she had seen him the second he turned the corner into the alley. This dog was certainly an intriguing creature. He had the outer appearance of a pampered royal, and yet he held the fighting spirit and voice of a street dog. Such a mix reminded her somewhat of herself, but even her appearance showed only the pure street-savvy mutt in her. However, if one with a very keen eye saw past all the dirt, matting and minor scratches that were often upon her, their suspicions would probably rise. After all, she would look quite similar to a purebred if it weren't for the fact she never let a human bathe her. However, this was a secret only Siren knew. Indeed, her mother had been a royal, but no one had ever guessed it, and she herself had tried very hard to forget about her unfortunate mix of blood. She had been the result of a forbidden - in most eyes - breeding between two dogs from totally different sides. It disgusted Siren, really, when she thought about it.

Siren nodded slightly when he answered with his name. When it registered, however, she looked somewhat surprised. She looked up at the other dog from where she was sitting with a quirked tan brow. What street dog in their right minds would name their pup Ceramic? Wasn't that some sort of fancy word? She had heard it used before by the humans near an old antique shop many times. The word was never used on the streets. Ceramic...some sort of expensive glass, from what she remembered. Well, it was a very strange..eh..unique name, she'd give him that much. Giving a small sigh, she decided not to ask where he had gotten such a royal-worthy name. She suspected she already knew, and she'd leave it at that. He had probably been one of the escaped house pets gone street that she had heard were slowly becoming larger in numbers on the streets.

When he asked for her own name, she decided she'd only give her name. Maybe he had heard of her? Maybe not. She'd just have to see if this tall mutt was street enough to actually pay attention to the gangs. "Siren." she said in response to his question. Her own name was street, enough. She had been named as such because she had been born just as a couple of police cars went zooming on past where her mother had been giving birth to her litter near a smaller alley.

C E R A M I C

His hot-headed and queer anger toward the blue merle mutt slowly vanished. In its place, a small intrest bloomed. Looking past the matted fur and unkept appearance, he saw something show-worthy. Though, many street mutts could be so. They had excellent conformation, but being abandoned caused them to appear just simple as mutts. He, himself, happened to keep himself out of trouble in some miraculous way. Few scratches littered his skin, compared to the many of the mottle female. She seemed street enough for his liking. Actually, he was thinking himself lucky for not getting into a scuffle with her. Even though he had speed, one look at her and he knew she could draw circles around him. Even though his royal blood, he was an excellent fighter. Having only been a royal for a year caused him to not be corrupted by its disgusting ways. He had no one to tell this secret, and he was glad for it. His family was dead, his owners thinking him dead to. No one would come searching for him. No one would ever know what he had been. It was his little secret.

He nodded as she spoke her name. He found it simple, and a very much street name. Siren, it oddly fitted the mottled mutt. He understood street names usually came from things heard and seen on the street. His name...a human had given it to him. It fitted him in no like or matter. How could something so valuable and tender describe himself? He was no longer valuable, and far from being anything but coarse and tough. He sighed, looking back to Siren. "Your name, it fits you," He spoke simply, giving a smirk. His words were often mismatched. Sometimes he spoke in true street mutt language, other times the perfect royal language. It was a danger, and it ked about, he simply lied."Ceramic...." He mumbled his own name, his tones in disgust, "I hate it." He sighed, shaking his head. Amber eyes looked to the blue merle mutt, Siren. He smiled simply.

Glancing up, he saw the moon peeking from behind the clouds. Its silvery light poured into the open alley, washing over his golden body. Siren, he mumbled it in his head to himself. It sounded familiar...oh so familiar. Where had he heard it before? Wait, could this female possibly be the Pericolo Alphaess? His eyes widened in realization, and he looked toward the mottled female. No, this would not enter their conversation. They were simply talking, and no title would step between it. Ceramic closed his parted lips, deciding not to question her about her identity. Ceramic simply smiled.

She quirked a tan brow at his statement, though a friendly smirk rested on her features. She wanted to ask him, 'How so?', but decided to keep quiet as it seemed he hadn't finished speaking yet. He didn't seem like the kind of dog that she saw unfit to her time, so she simply let him talk. After all, she had no better place to be at that particular moment in time. And she doubted he had anywhere to be, either, by his scent. Siren knew all the territories quite well, having explored all of them as a younger dog when they were seemingly unclaimed. None of those familiar scents of the gang territories lingered on him, or at least not very strongly. She could have been mistaken, though. If he did know of her, he had been mighty brave to have bared his teeth at her.

And it seemed that he did indeed know of her, by the look of surprise that befell his features after a silent moment or two. "Heard of me?" she asked him, her small smirk growing into a larger one as her eyes drifted down the alley momentarily. Indeed, this had been an interesting encounter. However, she didn't feel the need to wait for his answer. She felt fatigue tug at all of her limbs, and she was growing weary. The Warehouse was practically screaming her name, from her little spot in the far end where she often drifted into her light sleep. Her thoughts trailed back to her box, but then snapped back to the dog in front of her. She took a couple of steps towards him, still leaving a bit of space between them before she spoke.

"Been nice talkin', but I've gotta run." she said, nodding to him once before turning and trotting down the alley. Once out of the narrow concrete path, her pace quickened into a swift but quiet run across the street. Soon, she found herself in the tallgrass yard in front of the abandoned old warehouse. The aussie female then seemed to simply disappear behind it, slipping under a small hole in the rusted wall in the back.

ooc | bleh. sorry it's so short. x.x Siren has to meet another dog in her territory, and I had to drag her out of this thread, totally museless. >.> sorry again for dragging her out of the thread just totally random like this.

Obsidian brow quirked at her words. A smirk befell his rough features. He knew who she was all right. Siren, the alphaess of the Pericolo Gang. If he had noticed this earlier he might have taken some action. Did he regret showing aggression toward her? No, for he had nothing to fear. The truth was, did she know who he was? He didn't give his identity often, and his coat didn't reek strongly of his gang’s scent yet. Ceramic, alpha of the Suterusu Gang. Lips parted to retort a smart comment, like 'have you hard of me', but she spoke again. Leaving so soon? He gave an understanding smile, watching as she turned to leave the alley. "Lat'r Siren, alphaess of the Pericolo," He called out to her fleeting form, his tones friendly. Smirking, he glanced toward the sky. Easily he could have attacked her and ended competition for his own gang. Though, he wasn't that thug-ish. Plus, she had been contented enough to let him share her time. Amber eyes blinked as her mottled form disappeared into the darkness. Sighing, he glanced up, studying the moonlight.

His eyes weren’t heavy with sleep, and he felt ready for more action. Lonely it seemed now in the dark alley, that he mumbled to himself. Shaking his broad head, he stood and trotted toward the exit. Nails clipped along the concrete, the only sound for seemingly miles. Amber eyes were now dulled in boredom. Though his mind re-acting the small encounter. Hmm, she was pleasant enough. Maybe she would learn of his rank soon enough. Another day they might have another chat. Lips curled into a smile, and he sighed as the alleyway opened up to him. The streets played before him, the moonlight dancing along his golden hide. Shaking his form, he sauntered proudly down the street.
